Charlotte
Young Collie x Labrador, 2years, 20 kgs
Charlotte absolutely adores your company!! You are her world. Well behaved and affectionate, she is a very soft natured girl easy to please, easy to care for and totally devoted to her family. She will happily be your shadow and sit with you wherever you are. Charlotte is also great with other dogs and thoroughly enjoys their company, and when you are going out would really appreciate a doggy friend.
Charlotte is lovely girl who has been through a tough time. She would like a home where she has lots of company and cuddles - but preferably without cats as she does like to chase them.
Charlotte’s story: Charlotte was hit by a car and taken into the pound in late August. She was microchipped but her owner was not locatable nor did he look too hard to find her. She waited patiently, trying not to stand up, but grateful for any attention. Because of her injuries Charlotte had to have an operation on her knee.
Update: Charlotte had her operation last Wednesday. She should recover well but because of permanent changes to the knee from time of injury to operation she will probably have about 65 per cent flexion etc. and will have some arthritis. We are indebted to Sue P. for her kindness in offering to care for Charlotte in an ideal environment. Thank you to Fiona D for her donation towards charlotte’s operation.

Update 30 September: Charlotte is doing well and is desperate for a family to call her own. She is sleeping in her crate at night where she feels secure and she is extremely well behaved. No barking, whining or anything unless of course my dogs leave the room in which case she feels abandoned and lets us know quickly she wants to be part of the action. At this stage she is not putting her leg down at all so will get some instructions from the vet tomorrow on how we can encourage her to put a bit of weight on it.
Update November: Charlotte is now recovering well and it no longer affects anything she does. She doesn't weightbear all the time but the vet thinks it's encouraging that when she runs she does put her leg down sometimes - hopefully she will keep doing this and her muscles will strengthen. She would be best rehomed in a home without many steps. Charlotte is lovely girl who has been through a tough time. She would like a home where she has lots of company and cuddles - but preferably without cats as she does like to chase them!
