Mollie (On Trial)

Small female Terrier x, 18 months, 10.3 kgs

Mollie has taken a while to settle in care. When she came ot us she had obviously given birth not long before. . She spent days just being and acting very worried and was very very sad for quite a few weeks. We hope that her litter survived somewhere.

Molly has now settled, is playful, is very affectionate, wants the attention on her all the time, is very obedient (has had training in obeying “sit”, “wait” and “drop” commands), very good guard dog, somewhat boisterous, and is quite a strong little dog. She is a little too strong for the small maltese she is living with. T . But Molly is very gentle, will drop and roll on her back for a belly rub, with whomever is ready to give her a cuddle. She loves being cheeky.

Molly loves chasing and catching a ball, loves the beach, swimming. She is crazy about seagulls, possums and cats – she will take off with no warning to chase them. She is very good on the leash, will walk on the left side at the same pace, but will take off if bird, possum or cat is in sight! She is now OK when meeting other dogs on walks as she feels more secure.

Toilet training is not quite completed. Molly will not go outside when it is wet. In general she will rarely go to the toilet on her walks, except at the beach.

Molly is very good with all humans, she is gentle with children. She loves human company.

I think that Molly would suit a home with another dog around her age and size. Should she be an only dog, she would need human company or a home with children who behave well and respect pets and who would be play with her.

She has a beautiful soft face and her big brown eyes will make you melt.

We don’t believe Molly would be suitable for cats.
