Medium male Ridgeback x Sighthound, 12 months, 16.4 kgs

Tristan has settled well in foster care and is really coming out of his shell. His cheerfulness and exuberance for life now shines. He has been introduced to sights he's never seen before and he picks up what he is taught quickly. He is now happy to walk past lollypop men/women, groups of people and everyone - his carer lets him smell the small dog treat in her hand beforehand. He just trots past them and sits afterwards for his treat. He is also looking interested in other dogs in a friendly manner.

Tristan loves to play with his carer's little dog but due to the disparity in their sizes, he's flattening the little dog at times by putting his foot on him and holding him down! His ideal home would have a middle to largish size dog that he can romp around with. He gets so excited that he yelps when he is trying to get all his legs working in the right direction and the little dog has the lead and is running for cover.

He's great to walk, you don't really notice he's there as he doesn't pull or drag behind .... just happily trots beside you. He's housetrained and very good with his foster carer's cat. Tristan is not suitable for a household with chickens or birds as he likes them a bit too much!

Tristan would be best in an adult home or a in a home with older children. He will benefit from further training and socialising to ensure that he develops into a well balanced family member.
