Dear Kind Humans

I just wanted to let you all know that VicDRG's unpaid and overworked volunteers are working hard looking at all my applications – which are still coming in!! They are nearly down to a shortlist of six from so many – I’ve put my pawprint on the ones I like - and they will be contacting everyone over the next few days. There were so many kind people wanting to take me home but I do have very specific requirements, and even though nearly all these lovely people would give a rescue dog like me a great home, I’m a bit scared and I do need to have exactly the right person tuck me into my crate at night.

I’m not so sad any more because I know the right home is coming soon. And I quite like the young rescue girl Felice I met on Thursday. We had a brief chat about our past experiences and she lived in a compound till she was five months old so we swapped notes. She shared with her brothers and sisters though – I was on my own. I enjoyed the Today Show filming me yesterday, and when it was time to leave, I jumped in the back of the car with Felice and her foster mum Linda by mistake! They got some lovely pictures of us together.

I’m improving all the time and as long as I know my crate is there 24/7 for me to run to, I know I will be okay.

Bye for now

Barnaby

PS I do want someone who will let me lean against them – I love to lean against people.

PPS I can feel my special family getting closer...
