Isabel was dumped in the holding cages outside the pound in the middle of winter. She was old and very sad. By the time she left the pound she had a terrible cough. She was cared for in Mildura by Janelle who fed her toast (and other little things she seemed to love) until she could come to Melbourne to her new home with Kathy. When Kathy picked her up she still had her cough, so she sent her own dogs to a relatives so she could tend to Isabel.
