How You Can Sponsor A Dog.
Do you want to help but cannot foster or adopt a dog right now? Perhaps you could consider sponsoring one of our deserving animals.
Sponsoring is easy and the amount is nominated by you. Below is a guide to the typical costs for each dog?s rescue and subsequent vet treatment once they leave the pound and come into our foster care program. You can therefore choose one or more amounts that you can afford. For example:
- $10 will pay for a dog's flea treatment
- $35 for a course of antibiotics
- $40 for a C5 vaccination
- $95 for a male dog to be desexed
- $130 for a female dog to be desexed
- $150 for dental work
- $150 for a large crate to transport them to foster care in Melbourne.
Sponsoring is a one-off or regular donation to our bank account (details at www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/help.html), via cheque, direct debit from your bank account to ours, or Paypal.
Sponsors can nominate which dog they would like to sponsor by looking at 'Dogs Needing Homes' (www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/adoptions.html). The dogs on the first page have been looking for a home longer than those on the subsequent pages, but you should choose the dog that you most want to help. More than one person can sponsor each dog.
You can choose to be one of several sponsors for a dog as we would not expect one person to pay a large vet bill. If you'd prefer to donate directly to the vet, that can be arranged.
At Victorian Dog Rescue we honour our promise to every dog we save from the pound. This promise is that every dog will have as much vetwork and assistance that they require. No dog is ever returned to the pound or euthanased because of unexpected health or behavioural problems that can be dealt with.
Please help us care for these dogs who have already been discarded once.
