Orlando has not had a very good start to his short life, but he is not letting that hold him back. He is looking forward to the future, to a time when he will have his own, loving family.

Since arriving in our care, Orlando has come from spending days hiding under the bed or couch and has grown into a much more confident and trusting cat.

He now loves his foster carer and he likes nothing more than pats and cuddles. He is so funny in the morning, as he does not know which he wants more, his breakfast or some pats and head bumps, therefore, he runs between the two – a bite to eat and then he runs, rubs against his carer’s legs and then back to the bowl for another bite.

We are so proud of the courage he has shown to come so far – he now seeks out his carer’s lap and since he has discovered he has a purr-motor, he happily purrs, as he snoozes the time away.

Orlando is a happy, playful cat, who gets along with the other cats in his foster carer’s home. We do believe he has probably lived on his own and had to make his own fun in the past, as he is happy to play alone with his toys. Although we feel he will be best suited to life with another friendly cat, the cat will need to be confident, as Orlando plays enthusiastically and fast.

This is just the beginning for Orlando, as he still has a road to travel yet. He is still shy with strangers, although, he will now stand his ground and will not automatically hide under the bed. He does not tolerate loud noises and sudden movements, but we know he will adjust to this over time.

The ideal home for Orlando will be with a well experienced cat person, who will understand how to further develop his confidence. It will be an adult only home or with a teenaged family. Patience, understanding and love will be required to continue this beautiful boy’s development.

Orlando has already repaid his foster carer with bucket loads of love and he will repay his adopter manyfold, during the years ahead.
