Breed: Small Male Pomeranian x Tibetan Spaniel
This little guy has spent all 9 years of his life locked in a backyard with very little interaction. Despite this, he is reasonably, unscathed – he is enthusiastic about life and loves humans. He has settled well into a family environment and is happiest just laying by his family’s side.
The only senior part of Casper is his birth certificate – he has no identified illnesses and has the spirit and enthusiasm of a much younger dog. Everything in his world today is different and he is embracing it fully.
Although he has not previously been taught any basic commands, in only a few days with his foster carer, this smart little guy has learnt the commands to come, down, up, walkies and understands that a big “agh, agh”, means “no”; he is a quick and willing learner, as he just wants to please and be given a pat.
Casper walks well on lead and travels well in the car. He is toilet trained and waits patiently until you take him out for a walk.
Although his foster carer has seen no sign of it, we have been advised that he has resource guarded his person in the past (wouldn’t you, if the only things you had in life were your person and a backyard?) Therefore, we are recommending he be an only dog. Likewise, as he is untested with cats, we are recommending no cats.
Casper needs a patient and attentive home, without any young children.
All in all, Casper will be a loving companion to an adult family prepared to make him an active part of their lives. He will do anything for a little bit of TLC.
