Dexter is a three year old 50 kg boy who is chipped as a mastiff cross. He has a lovely nature and has been in a lot of pain for years. He often walks with a bunny hop motion as apart from his hip dysplasia he has bilateral patella fractures.

Dexter is currently in a rural area on pain meds and we must get him to Melbourne so that we can operate on his legs and try to help him. We desperately need a foster carer to care for him during his rehab. He will most likely need to be immobilized for some weeks and allowed to gradually build up with exercise. He could possibly live with a dog who would not be in his face or in a position to knock him as he is very dog friendly. But he must be kept quiet.

Dexter was given the short straw in his life but we can turn this around if we can find a person to foster care him. We do not ask for money for specific operations and to those of you who kindly donated to us this year this is one dog your funds will be used towards.

Whoever fosters him but also be able to take him on visits to the specialist, and after that to the physio/hydro.

Can you help Dexter? He should not have to live with constant pain or not be able to walk freely. If you can please email us or ideally complete the foster application form.

Please note: we do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25.

It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. Please go to your local pound, or contact your local group. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia Pounds in the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.
