What a gorgeous duo - just like an old married couple. Zac is a big sweetie and once he gets the opportunity to snuggle up with you he will get as close as possible. He will rest his head on your foot or roll over for a tummy rub. Zac loves food so is easy to manage. He is happy to sleep all day knowing you are there. If you put him to bed he will bark for a short while, but stops quickly accepting the separation with grace. If you go out again he will bark but not for long. His only fault really is that he is possessive of his bed and can show unhappiness if you disturb him.

Ellie is very curious and likes to explore your home and yard. Although she is 10 she has some very puppy like qualities. She is particularly food obsessed and will gobble it up quickly in the hope of eating Zac's too, so both need to be separated when eating. She doesn't bark when separated but will cry a little. Ellie is keen to go for walks, play with her kong and follow you around everywhere. She is a sweetie and loves belly rubs too. She likes to be held and cuddled like a baby and will fall asleep in your arms on her tummy or side.

Sadly, both these little guys have been outside dogs up until now. Their carers have commenced house training; in just a short time they have made progress and are even using the doggy door.

Around new dogs, Ellie is disinterested. Zac on the other hand is a little possessive of his space being ‘invaded’ so needs supervision with new dogs initially but after no more than five minutes he is playing as though he has always been best friends.

In terms of walking, Ellie pulls a little on the lead but isn't very strong whereas Zac is a little slow and stiff and quite happy to walk alongside you for a decent walk.

Zac is blind in one eye but sees perfectly well with his good one and navigates around confidently. He will need a special person who has the time and patience to love and care for a dog with reduced sight. Ellie has sight in both eyes and is currently recovering from surgery to ensure she maintains good eye health.

So, to sum up, you, cuddles and food will be their main priorities. They are such sweet little souls and we certainly don’t want them to spend another winter outside.

Please note: we do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25.

It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. Please go to your local pound, or contact your local group. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia Pounds in the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.
