Sparrow and Storm

Wow, I have just realised it is 3 years since I adopted this gorgeous pair; how quickly time has gone and how much they have added to my life.

Sparrow is still the same – petite, soft, gentle and very cuddly. She is obsessed with doors and if she is not trying to rush through them, afterwards, diving to come back the other way, then she is playing footsy under the door, just in case there is something of interest on the other side. I often scold her that I know why she ended up in the pound!

Storm has grown into a 5 and ½ kg, 3 YO, ‘kitten’ – he hasn’t yet realised he is meant to lose those kitten antics. He is just a big, cuddly bear, who loves to be carried around, nursed like a purring, baby and contentedly so for hours. He keeps me laughing as he endeavours to fit himself into boxes and baskets way too small for him.

When I adopted Sparrow and Storm, I was hoping for a bonded pair and I certainly got one – even though they are part of a multi cat family, they still find time each day for some Mother/Son time and can often be found curled up asleep together or grooming one another.

Thanks to VicDRG for rescuing Sparrow from the horrors of Mildura, with Stow-Away Storm, tucked safely in his Mum’s tummy. Shame Mildura for not even knowing Sparrow was pregnant, when, within only 24 hours of arriving at foster carer Mel’s home, Sparrow gave birth to her one, tiny kitten. I like to think that Stow-Away Storm knew he had reached safe harbour, when they arrived in VicDRG’s care.

Oh, I love them so, for everything they have given and continue to give me. Thank you VicDRG.
