Good bye Katie. We only had you with us for just over a year, but you changed everything. Life was exciting with you around. You loved to play, to run, to swim and to jump higher than we’d ever seen a dog jump before. You adored riding in all our farm vehicles and jumped into any car with an open door, hoping to ride off to another adventure. You were first to catch on to the new commands at the dog training class and yawned shamelessly as we waited for the others to catch up. You loved tomatoes, picking the ripest ones direct from the vines in the garden. You led your brother, Jack, into all kinds of scrapes and adventures. You drove us crazy sometimes. We loved you, Katie. You were one in a million.
We always suspected you might not have a long life, you were too much of a risk taker for that, but you deserved longer. We thought it would be a snake, a kangaroo or a bull’s horns, but it was a simple car accident that ended your life. Rest In Peace Katie, although if there is an afterlife we know you will not be resting, you will be on your way to another adventure.
