RIP Teddy

As many people likely know, a week ago I said goodbye to my most special friend. While he was my absolute best mate for a decade, I know Teddy also captured the hearts of so many others. Ted held my hand through so many different ages and stages, and was my most constant companion and rock. Adopted from Victorian Dog Rescue, he was a gentleman, a therapy dog, a dog model, a dog show winner, a foot fetishist, a rolly aroundery, a great listener, a pat hog, a nature enthusiast,a party dog, a quiet dog, and steadfastly dependable.

I feel so lucky I had the privilege of being his companion, and it's definitely going to be a long process for me to adjust to life without him. I feel lost and unmotivated, and being at home without him is hard.Teddy had battled a steady year of a degenerative heart condition, and I'm glad we were able to let him go in the comfort of his home and in the arms of Rob and I. I highly recommend and thank vet Aish at Vets at Home for helping us send him off peacefully, and will always choose this option if I ever need to make this heart breaking decision again. The support from friends and family has meant so much. Here are some of my favourite Ted photos, stored here for safe keeping in the eternal bosom of the interweb.

Vale Teddy - the very best boy. I'll never forget you.
