NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Note:  Chanel would love a home with other senior small dogs who can co-exist but also enjoy a snuggle with her. She LOVES sedate company.

Chanel is an older lady, but don’t let that fool you. She loves her walks, she currently does 2 a day and can’t get enough when it comes to socialising. Whether you are a dog, a person or any other creature, Chanel will happily say hello ever so respectfully and gently. Being a sociable girl, Chanel has spent quite a bit of time out and about and has met puppies, excited bigger dogs, children, walked politely beside trolleys, and happily lay down and waited whilst in a long queue. She is the perfect girl to take on all your social events.

Being so sociable, Chanel does need another dog to live with, she thrives on company and is still a little sad that she has lost her previous person. Chanel can be left home alone and will happily wait for you, but if you are home she does need lots of contact with you or others in her home to go to when not napping or exploring.

Chanel has significantly poor hearing and eyesight and can bark if she can smell you in the house but cannot find you. Chanel is learning to slowly take her time to find her person and then she gets lots of attention and pats and sometimes even a sneaky treat.  She doesn’t need someone to be with her all the time, she just needs to know she can find you. Chanel has shown though that she can settle into a new routine and still learn a few tricks.

Chanel is on a specific diet, but this is easily managed and includes toast ! So if you love toast, lots of company and socialising then she is the lady for you.

Health: We are currently sorting out Chanel’s multiple health issues.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
