NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Charlie and Romeo are an inseparable pair who have spent their entire lives together. They have been part of the same family since they were puppies and, after eight wonderful years together, they are now looking for a new home where they can continue to enjoy life side by side.
Both boys are affectionate, people-loving and generally laid-back. Indoors, they are happy to relax beside you and enjoy being part of the family. They love being handled and receiving attention.
Charlie and Romeo have many wonderful qualities. They are responsive to their owners, come when called and are house trained. When they see the lead, they happily come over and wait to have it put on. Both walk well on lead. They also travel very well in the car and have previously enjoyed off-leash walks where they would return when called.
Outside the home, they can be vocal when they see other dogs. Charlie in particular can become reactive, barking with Romeo often joining him. With appropriate management and ongoing positive training, they can interact politely with other dogs, and both would benefit from continued dog-to-dog socialisation to build their confidence.
They would suit a family or individual who is prepared to continue their training and give them time to settle into a new environment.
Charlie and Romeo are both generally calm, but they can bark at noises and things they see outside, particularly after dark. They settle well once they are safely inside their sleeping area.
Charlie can be protective of high-value bones and may growl at Romeo over them, so bones and other high-value resources should be managed separately.
Romeo is the more adventurous of the two and has previously jumped barriers around one metre high and squeezed through gaps in fencing. A secure, escape-proof yard is therefore particularly important for Romeo.
Both boys enjoy grooming and handling, although Charlie and Romeo do better with regular breaks during grooming. They are accustomed to professional grooming.
After eight years with the same family, moving to a new home will be a big change for them. They will need patience, consistency and understanding while they settle in.
Charlie and Romeo have spent eight years being loved and cared for by the same family. They are sweet, affectionate boys who enjoy human company, relaxing at home and being part of everyday family life.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
