Looking for the best girl with a heart of gold? Look no further than Chloe. Chloe is a gentle, kind mixed breed who has had a tough start to life, but has the sweetest soul you can imagine.

Chloe came to care with her daughter through an emergency rehoming. Not much is known about her background, however she has had at least one litter of pups, which is an enormous challenge as she is only two herself. She is currently in foster with her daughter, but they would be better separated, as Chloe is being dominated by the puppy.

Despite her challenging start, Chloe is the ultimate people-pleaser. She came to foster with no toilet training, no understanding of commands, and likely never been on a lead. Despite this, she picked up toilet training in a matter of days. She is often unsure what she is and isn’t allowed to do, but with gentle, firm re-direction, will follow her human’s instructions.

Since being in foster, Chloe has displayed anxiety and some leash reactivity on walks, likely due to the fact that everything is a brand-new experience for her. Chloe’s human will need to   show her that the world is not the big, scary place she thinks it is. A trainer has worked with Chloe’s foster carers in this area, and after only a few days, she has shown wonderful improvement and is already much calmer on walks. She is still frightened of the dog door, and is continuing training in foster care.

Chloe enjoys a quiet environment where she feels safe that her human is in charge. She needs firm boundaries where she knows her place, and is protected. She is happy to run after a ball and likes to play keepsy-offs, but returns toys very gently when told. She is a slow, calm eater and loves to snack on raw spinach.

Chloe’s ideal family would consist of a quiet, calm household, who is committed to continue basic training. It is recommended she is the only dog for now  Untested with cats.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
