Kai is a friendly and sociable dog who loves to spend time with people. She is always up for a scratch behind the ears and a tickle of her tummy, which she presents for attention upon getting to know people. On her daily walks, Kai is friendly with all dogs and greets them with a little sniff before moving on to the next thing her beagle nose needs to investigate.
Once she’s had her exercise, Kai will find a comfy bed to relax the day away – that is until the doorbell rings! She also loves to spend time out in the garden checking out how the plants are growing and helping herself to some leaves or even a jalapeno to munch on (luckily not a spicy one).
Kai is housetrained and mastered the doggy door in her foster home on her first day. She sleeps well through the night in a bed in her carer’s room and understands the human bed is off limits. Kai comes when called about the house and knows how to sit patiently for her dinner and is very considerate of her smaller foster siblings. She is a smart girl who is responsive to her people, so definitely a good candidate for further training. Kai has been left alone for a few hours at a time and has been fine, although she is too sociable to be a candidate for long stretches of alone time.
Kai loves adventure, it’s the highlight of her day – be it a long walk where she can sniff the world, a puppuccino at her favourite café, a trip to Bunnings or the beach, she loves them all. Once Kai thinks there’s a chance to go out, she’ll wait patiently at the front door. She’s great in the car and happily sits taking in everything on the drive. She is savvy with other pups and ignores carry on behind fences or out in the street. While a happy walker and responsive to her people, Kai does display some beagle tendencies to follow her nose, so will need an on-lead exercise life or secure spaces to explore when at home or out meeting new friends.
Kai is presenting with some minor allergies which are easily managed.
Kai is a friendly and delightful pup who would thrive in a home with plenty of love, exercise, and companionship. She would be happiest in a home with a secure garden or courtyard where she can bask in the sun and take in all the scents, and an air conditioned space where she can cool off and relax. Kai is a little too enthusiastic about cats and small animals, so she would do best in a home without them. She would also enjoy having a well-matched canine buddy or two, as she has bonded well with her foster fur siblings and is happy when one of them snuggle up on the couch.
Please note that Kai is a sociable soul and would not be suitable for a home where humans are out all day. If you are looking for a fun energetic dog who will in turn melt your heart, Kai is waiting for you to submit an adoption application.
