NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Lovely Lucky is a squidgy ball of puppy love looking for new people through no fault of his own. This heart-meltingly sweet kid is happy and friendly and still learning all the ‘how to dog’ ropes. At home, he loves to play with people and toys, and accept pats from his neighbours as they pass the front fence. Out and about, Lucky is friendly with other pups and interested in the sights and smells of his world. Lucky has progressed really well with his house training and is now reliable about doing his business outside. Being so young, though, he will need some patient guidance from his people about new routines. Lucky sleeps through the night in the living room and has been okay being left at home inside or out for short periods. As he is still in his exploratory phase, Lucky needs appropriate things to sniff and chew so he doesn’t make his own fun with your shoes. Lucky is okay in the car but still building his confidence and does bark occasionally at passing trucks.

Lucky needs a support team who will put some time into his training so he can be the best Rottie he can be. As a young fella, he will need continued opportunities to socialise with other dogs so he can learn their cues and develop his adult manners. He would benefit from group obedience classes or similar to build both his social and his practical skills. Lucky’s people will also need to work with him on his loose lead training as he is still quite the zig zagger. Given his friendly disposition and desire to please, this should not prove difficult and will ensure he bonds well with you.

Lucky is up for joining a variety of homes with a dedicated person, couple or family with children old enough to manage his big puppy enthusiasms. With regular exercise, toys and human company to stretch his mind and paws, this boy will be very happy. He can handle a bit of alone time provided he has things to keep him occupied and appropriate shelter. Lucky may well live with another friendly dog who is ready to share their space and people. If you are ready for some slightly slobbery big dog love in your life and are able to give him the foundations he needs to be an excellent canine citizen, Lucky would love to hear from you.

Source Number: RE120211
Medical Notes: We are postponing Lucky’s desexing until he finds his new home, as vet advice is to leave the larger breeds for longer when we can.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
