Puppy Power

Milo is a quintessential puppy – exuberant, playful, loving and eager to learn. Given the right training and boundaries he will be a cracker addition to your family.

Milo is a social butterfly and loves cuddles and attention. He can get excited by seeing other dogs or people he wants to interact with but listens when told to settle down.

He is friendly with other dogs, possibly a bit too much with his excitement, but can settle into great play and can be redirected when told. He will need ongoing socialisation with other dogs to be a polite member of the doggie world but the early signs are good. He will need regular exercise and mental stimulation to tire out his puppy energy. He would excel at doggy sports or be someone’s running buddy when he’s an adult!

He has some recall ability in a quiet environment but gets very distracted if dogs or people are nearby. He knows his name, can sit on command and has shown he is eager to learn more commands and tricks. With time and consistency he will learn quickly as he is quite smart, but ongoing training is a must.

He is ok on a lead but pulls very strongly when coming across other dogs he wants to play with and will need to continue to work on impulse control.

He travels very well in the car and sleeps in his crate at night.

His ideal home is with an active person(s) or amongst a family who will give him attention, cuddles and importantly exercise. At least in the beginning, his new people will be home most of the time to let Milo gain confidence and learn to relax when left by himself.  Initially he cannot be left outside unsupervised because he may try to escape.  Experience with working dogs and commitment to ongoing training would be best.
We think he would like to live with another dog or in an existing pack of dogs, but will need obedience training and learn to respect boundaries and settle down. He has shown that he will learn quickly given the right circumstance.  He has lived with children, loves to be amongst them and doesn’t mind the noise, but will still need to learn not to mouth and jump up.

He is a lovely and beautiful boy and will absolutely thrive in a loving home.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
