NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Meet Nero Grimaldi a handsome Wolfhound x Labrador male and his companion, Abby Grimaldi a beautiful Staghound Cross female both seeking a new home. They are friends and would be happy to find a home together but would also be fine to be adopted separately.

Nero and Abby are wonderful loving dogs. Abby is very laid-back preferring to have a relaxing day with a brief stroll in the morning while Nero is more active and likes the fast lane with an active and energetic walk of around 25-30 mins a day. Both walk well on a lead, however, because of their different interests when out walking, Abby will tend to walk slowly on the lead and will stop to smell the roses and is curious about other dogs but Nero likes to walk fast so is head down to get to his destination and is more likely to bark and run towards other dogs.

It is best to keep Nero away from crowds and dog parks as he has been previously mistreated. He is good with visitors to the home but may initially bark at them until told it is okay.

Abby and Nero do not have issues with chewing or barking but may bark at cats, possums or other dogs if passing by. Abby attended puppy school and Nero has had 15 sessions with a trainer. Neither Abby or Nero have ever jumped backyard fences but it’s a good idea to have high fencing to ensure they are always safe and secure.

They have no issues travelling in the car and enjoy the wind blowing in their hair!

Both Abby and Nero are best not placed in a home with cats and with small children as they are both big dogs and therefore will be better placed with a family with older children.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
