Sioux is a sensitive, intelligent soul and needs to be treated as such.  She thrives on her routines and would love a home with another canine friend, where there is little traffic, not many strangers, on a hobby farm or outer suburban area.

She is going to give some lucky person a lot of love.

Hi, my name is Sioux Polkington, and this is my idea of the perfect day.

My perfect day would start with enthusiastic, wriggly morning snuggles in bed with my person. The licking summersaults pause briefly for a sprinting wee-stop, followed by my patented “land shark attack” launch back onto the bed to continue showing just how happy I am to be starting my day with my best friend. I would love to share my excitement with a furry brother, or sister, who enjoys mornings as much as I do, especially if we can play with toys together. Chasey and tug are THE BEST!

My perfect day would continue with the game of ‘Breakfast’, which is best played outside by throwing one piece of dry food at a time in different directions and marvelling at how I acrobatically launch myself to catch each piece. Barking makes this game better, although if asked to concentrate on looking between treats, I forget that bit. I love a quiet morning walk, although I don’t like traffic, especially intersections. My perfect walk is the same quiet backstreet block that we walked yesterday…and the day before…and the day before that. I’m a creature of habit. Mornings are made complete with a good zoomies session, either with my furry friend or solo with a fluffy toy dangling from my mouth.

A ten-minute physio session where I show off my obedience skills for some more food (I love food!) is the perfect way to finish off such a thrilling morning, then it’s time for a rest. Sleeping is best done on top of my person’s feet while they tap away at the computer. For such a pocket rocket, I do like my daytime sleep. 4-5 hours is ideal.

Then I’m ready for round 2! If my person can’t join me yet, then I would love to continue playing with my goofy dog brother/sister. This is a great time to chew on things too…I love bones, hooves, horns, or even chewing toys. Even on my perfect day, I am ready to shadow my person any time they move… I would hate for them to feel lonely, so my happy tail and I remind them how loved they are everywhere they go. A second physio session and a big snuggly cuddle is the best way to celebrate my person finishing work!

I happily follow my person around in the evening as they go about their routine, ensuring I get as many smoochy cuddles and pats as I can. Dinner time should be followed by another intense session of zoomies, although playing games or going for that same quiet walk again makes me just as happy. My perfect day ends with couch snuggles and a quality chewing session, then I’m ready to go to bed and start all over again tomorrow.

If this sounds like your perfect day too, please apply. I would love to share my happiness, unconditional love, and excitement with you and become part of your family.

Sioux’s fun facts.

– I’m scared of the dark.

– Barking is the best way to let my person know there’s something scary making noise over the fence.

– When I get excited, I like to ‘Boop’ the legs of my person. Sometimes I use my nose, and sometimes it’s my teeth, although I try to be gentle.

– I’m super smart and have worked out how to open some doors with my paws.

–  I am very snuggly and make it known when I need pats with a nose nudge or a paw pat.

– Walking past dogs and people can be scary. I like to keep as far away as the lead will let me, although treats get me past anything.

– I’m as fast as lightning and if you bend down low enough, I’m going to try to sneak in a licking kiss or a boop.

– Although I’m shy at first, I grow comfortable quickly, especially if my person tells me everything is ok.

-My favourite place to be is touching my person. Even when asleep, I like to be touching so I can shadow them as soon as they move.
