PLEASE NOTE: TILLY NEEDS A QUIET ENVIRONMENT WITH AN ADULT FAMILY  AND ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER PETS.

Tilly is a sweet, loving companion. She was a reluctant surrender and her foster carer’s report is full of praise for what a delightful little dog she is.

Tilly is very laid back, happy to sleep all day and is a lap dog. She loves for you to be home and will follow you around just to be in your presence. She is a clever girl who can do a number of tricks that her previous family taught her. Tilly knows how to sit, drop, jump and roll (with a bit of help) and is a very enthusiastic student when liver treats are at hand. Sensory games are her specialty and her carers have found it very enriching for her.

She loves the couch and will happily chill out during the day.   She loves water and seeks out puddles and ponds on her walks. A little paddle pool would be the best thing ever. A 30 minute walk is enough to tire her out for the day. Tilly loves the idea of the car more than being in it. She is happy on the back seat looking out the window but pants excitedly for the whole journey.

Tilly’s anxiety and reactive behaviour is at its worst when out of the house for a walk where she is unexpectedly met by strange dogs. Her adopter will have to respect that Tilly is not a dog park dog.Tilly can be wary around strangers and introductions need to be done in a way she feels safe, which is at her level, not being towered over. She is nervous and cautious when first meeting strangers, especially men, but if you are patient and address her as she likes she is up for some attention. Once she is comfortable with new people she is truly a bundle of joy.

Tilly’s new humans will be experienced dog people and will be dedicated to working with Tilly moving forward. Just like us humans, exercise is fantastic for anxiety. She loves to explore the world around her on her walks. . Tilly is learning to slow down, enjoy the great outdoors and stop to smell the roses.  Tilly is a very reluctant surrender but she was just in the wrong situation for her to relax and progress.

An ideal forever home for Tilly will be somewhere in a quiet area and away from too many people, children and dogs. Love and dedication to Tilly’s training, along with the provision of a safe environment will see her thrive and become the wonderful dog she is destined to be.

Don’t have children or cats and need an excuse to get out and have a nice walk each day? Want a little bundle of love to sit on the couch and read or watch tv with? How does an intelligent, loyal dog with a lovely nature that is adorably cute and will think you are the best thing in the world sound? If you can accept that Tilly isn’t great around other dogs and needs a slow introduction with strangers, then Tilly is the dog for you! Lets get started with the application form.
