At his core, Teddy Gainsborough is a beautiful and gentle soul. He also is a bundle of positive energy and has so much love for his people.
His carer calls him “a super sweet goofball”. As he is still young, Teddy will need guidance as well as exercise to channel his enthusiasm, but he is a darling boy that will shower you with love.
He likes to run (would be a great running companion), play with other dogs, and be close to his people.
He is house trained and sleeps in a crate. He is also fine in the car. He knows “sit”, “settle” and responds very well to stay and wait, especially at the open door. He will not come through the door until his people tell him it’s okay. He has good recall mostly, unless he is chasing.
Teddy has got wonderful potential and “he tries to do what is asked of him 95% of the time”, according to his carer. Due to his size and enthusiasm, he will need an experienced dog owner to show him the ropes. He pulls quite a bit on the lead when out and about because he really wants to play with other dogs but calms down quickly when diverted. He has never shown aggression to other dogs that we know of.
An ideal home for Teddy would be with an experienced dog owner / family, who are physically strong and active. We think he would like to be with another dog (or with a dog-savvy cat) in an environment where people engage with him (children best over 8 years old because of his size and enthusiasm). He is probably better in the city, with limited opportunities to chase other small creature, but a larger yard or lots of exercise would be preferable. Teddy can be left alone for periods but would love to be close to his humans when they are home.
Teddy is a super sweet boy who will flourish where his people put in the time to guide him and include him in the family. He is a bundle of love.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
