Winston is a sweet little puppy, in a big puppy’s body! Not yet a year old, Winston still still has some learning to do but he is ready, willing and able. Although Winston is thought to be a Great Dane cross, we can see some greyhound and other breeds in him too. This combination has resulted in a delightfully soft and shiny coat coupled with his very pretty face. Currently Winston is the size of a small greyhound and he may grow more.
Given his young age, Winston still has some puppy traits. He loves to play with people and dogs and he would say cats too, but not all cats are going to enjoy playing with Winston. Dog savvy cats might be ok. He seems to be happy to have frequent naps in between his games.
Although we believe that Winston likes children, he is big enough to knock over little ones accidentally so a family with older children would be a better fit for him.
Winston would love to live with another dog who wants to play with him. A dog who is not afraid of his size and is happy for bursts of play with rests in between would be perfect. A dog who is a bit older than him, who can show him the ropes, would work well.
Winston will need an owner committed to exercising him and training him. He needs to learn to walk well on the lead and to know how to moderate his excitement when he meets anyone new amongst other things – VicDRG will certainly provide advice to his new family on the training he will need. Overall Winston is a great dog who will thrive in the right home.

Medical Notes:
All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
