Pynell is in his new home
Breed: Medium Male Koolie x
Age/DOB: 2 years
Weight: approx. 20kgs
Pye is a beautiful blue eyed boy with the prettiest coat. If he were a horse he’d be a liver chestnut appaloosa. He has the cutest freckles on the back of his ears!
People seem to be drawn to Pye and he’s a huge hit at his current dog park. The younger guys in particular love him and often ask to take him for a while and have a run around, which he loves.
He’s good with most dogs, but he does seem a little intimidated by larger dogs and can be a little reactive with them.
He loves people and loves cuddles. He is still working on his manners however and learning that he needs to wait until he’s invited instead of just putting his feet up and hugging people around the waist. He’s probably not suitable for small children due to this habit.
He loves playing with his current foster brother, and would love a fur brother or sister of a similar age and energy level. He’s not particularly bouncy or full on and will happily lay around snoozing for large parts of the day, but he is quite high energy when playing so he’d need a dog who would be okay with this.
Pye ignores cats and birds. He likes a game of tug and likes still water, but not the beach – doesn’t like the waves apparently.
Pye loves his people and is happiest when he’s near you. He doesn’t bark when left, and sleeps in the lounge room with the other dogs without a problem, but given the choice he’d rather be where you are. He’d love a home where his people are home a lot, maybe someone who works part time or works from home? He is quite strong for his size, but he’s quite gentle and with ongoing training will make a delightful addition to many families.
Pye currently knows how to – sit, drop, wait, shake hands and can sort of roll over. He’s smart and would probably enjoy some sort of activity such as agility or obedience or even learning tricks. Or maybe just going for lovely long walks or jogging with his humans – just something to keep him occupied. He will go looking for ways to amuse himself if bored – usually in the form of trying to steal food – a leftover from his days as a stray I assume. You’ll learn to keep all food behind doors or up high, but it’s a small price to pay for his delightful company!
