Sandy Farquhar is in her new home
Breed: Female Red Heeler
Sandy is a lovely girl who is a reluctant surrender by her male person. She hasn’t spent time with many dogs and probably would be best to remain an only dog with people all to herself, although she may adapt well to a home with another quiet dog she has met a few times first.
She is very focused on her person and gets so attached she may take a week or so to settle to a new home. But we know she does adapt as she has had to do this before for a short term placement. Sandy just LOVES the ball. If you throw it for her she will bring it back to you all day. She loves her walks and will put her head in her Easy Walker harness to make it easier for you. When you come home she pushes her head between your legs so you can scratch her all over. And will follow you if she can and lie at your feet.
She has been with the one person since she was a puppy and is an inside/outside dog. She is a well trained and sociable dog who could perhaps have done with more dog interaction in her life but is not aggressive or reactive.
She doesn’t like being washed but will tolerate it.
Sandy has spent time with older children and generally loves people. She doesn’t have separation anxiety when you leave her but welcomes you back. She is not cat friendly and will chase them when she sees them.
Sandy is a resource guarder with her food and needs to be left alone when being fed.
Overall a friendly girl who will really attach herself to her person.
