NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Let us tell you about Alexander Grandchester.  He’s come from quite a rough area, had a tough life, and it shows, but a weather beaten face doesn’t mean a weather beaten heart.

So if you’re looking for a wonderful companion then this distinguished gentleman is your guy.  Alexander is deaf, but this doesn’t stop him enjoying life. While this does mean he can’t hear you calling his name and you’ll have to use hand directions to gesture commands, this is surprisingly easy.   He is very friendly with people and enjoys attention. He loves belly rubs and is well behaved and understands boundaries. He settles easily at night and will take himself to bed (yes he snores!) after dinner and a walk. Alex is obedient and is able to sit for his food bowl, his lead and knows to stay when hand gestures are used. He enjoys a drive in the car so  is great company when out and about.

Alex hopes you’re a keen walker because he loves heading out for a morning and afternoon walk, and usually walks for around 60 minutes in total.  So if you enjoy taking long walks, Alexander is the dog for you. He isn’t a fan of other dogs on walks though and will bark and lunge towards them. You need to have some patience, understanding and a commitment to his ongoing training.

If you are looking for cuteness, companionship, exercise and love look no further than Alexander. Besides, how can you resist this face!

Alexander has a big lump near his liver.  We have had a biopsy done but it come back as benign.
