NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Jasper is a quiet and well-mannered boy who loves a cuddle – on his terms. He is loving sleeping in his bed during the day as his carer works from home. Jasper enjoys being in the car, travels well and will be the most wonderful little companion. He loves his walks, meeting people and being petted by them.

However, he is not a dog that likes to be cuddled, picked up unexpectedly or scared by sudden movements. If he is startled or feels threatened, Jasper can be snippy.         He was originally rehomed with his sibling but now he is an inside dog he does not like to share his person with another dog. We have found this with a number of bonded pairs that come from particular backgrounds where they begin to assert and become bossy and particularly protective of their new person. Jasper also seems quite sensitive to loud noise, and windy nights unsettle him which can affect his temperament.

Jasper understands the commands to sit and come. He can use the doggie door and is working on his house training. Jasper barks at other dogs when they walk along the fence line of his backyard and also on walks if they are across the street.

Jasper will benefit from a home in quiet surroundings, with an experienced person who will teach him to fit in with their routine and that he does not have to be anxious any longer because someone else is caring for him.

Jasper has a big heart full of love that he can’t wait to share with you!

Jasper is untested with cats and will be rehomed to an adult family.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
