Yesterday we said goodbye to our Lenny Boy. This legend took my heart from the minute he popped up on my screen 12yrs ago & I was determined to bring him home. When we met, I knew the feeling was mutual & he had picked his forever family & his human. We made his ‘gotcha day’ his birthday. He never left my side & showered us all with so much love & affection. He woofed at us when he wanted something, but had beautiful manners, & sat on our feet to be as close as he could. His favourite things besides his family were food (any kind except lettuce), laying in the sun, playing with his doggo sister Tess & spooning with me on the bed.

At over 15yrs, your spinal disease became too much & we had to let you go. I always thought your enlarged heart would take you out, but now I think it was your big, beautiful heart that kept you with us long after expectations for your conditions. My broken heart has shattered. I am utterly lost without my best mate, my rock, who never let me down & stood by my side through the highs & the lowest of lows. Rest easy my boy, I’ll hold on to the hope we’ll meet again & can’t wait to see you ‘bear bear’ again.”
