Horace Silvanus was one of the 80 or so dogs that were brought to GAWS from a horrific hoarding situation. He has had trauma to his eyes, most likely from a dog attack, judging from the scars all over his face on arrival. Untreated he has now gone blind. How does a blind dog manage to eat safely in that sort of situation? Horace is understandably not comfortable with other dogs in his space although he is fine when walked and left alone. When he settles he is fine alone with a dog door and access to outside. He is such a rewarding dog, very bright, very trainable and so appreciative of love. Because the current foster carer has another dog it will be much better for Horace to feel safe in a dog-free environment. Could you help by foster caring or ideally adopting Horace. Horace has not had much of a life to date. We need you to make the rest of it better. https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/…/horace-silvanus/ 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐬 🐶 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝: 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫/𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐎𝐁: 𝟎𝟑/𝟎𝟕/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 𝐖𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝟏𝟐.𝟓 𝐤𝐠 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒆𝒆 **If you have any questions regarding Horace Silvanus, please do email adoptions@victoriandogrescue.org.au initially or to complete an application form please go to https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/about-vicdrg/forms/ VicDRG VictorianDogRescue animalrescueadoptsecondchances dogrescue adoptadoggy adoptdontshop adopt rescuedogsofinstagram rescuedog dogs rescue

NOTE:  Horace is blind, owing to an  untreated infection of his eyes, caused by trauma in a terrible  hoarding situation.  He cannot go to a home with other pets because of his background.

Horace is a playful, cheeky young boy who is looking for a new life with a family to love him and guide him to be the best dog he can be. Horace may be blind, but he makes up for it extremely well with his other senses. Horace came into our care from a hoarding situation, so he is a little frightened of new things. He will need time to adjust to new situations but is easily won over with kind words and treats.

Horace is a very smart dog and has learnt so much in his foster home and is eager to please you. He is toilet trained, crate trained and walks well on lead with a few treats to encourage him along the way. He thrives on routine and would do well in a home that understands this. He will rely on his new family to continue his training and show him how to be part of a loving family.

Horace is happiest in his familiar home environment. He loves stuffed toys and balls and will have you laughing daily with his silly antics. He shows his appreciation for his new life with daily zoomies and lots of cuddles. After a play he will snooze in his bed and doesn’t need constant attention. He is comfortable being left on his own for periods of time providing he has some toys to keep him occupied.

He will need a dedicated family, but Horace will be the best friend you will ever have. He has a big heart and a cheeky side that will fill you with happiness. So fill out the application for Horace today and create a new life for both of you to relish.

Due to his background he isn’t suitable to live with other animals or children
