NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Meet Happy Humphrey, the adorable cute senior seeking some cosy companionship in his retirement. Humphrey is a gentle, laid-back, easygoing fellow who’s as sweet and affectionate as they come! He’s proven himself to be a reliable housemate, content to wander about the house solo or hang out with his favorite humans. Plus, he’s mastered the art of using the dog door like a true pro.

While Humphrey gets along fine with his foster dog sibling, we think he’s more of a lone wolf at heart and would likely thrive as the sole canine in a home. He’s incredibly gentle with people and dogs of all ages, showing a friendly demeanor even around little visitors. Cats remain a mystery to him, as he hasn’t had the chance to be tested with any yet.

Seems like Humphrey might have been an outdoor dog in his earlier days, given his desire for spending time in the backyard. But don’t worry, he’s also discovered the joys of a soft, fluffy bed indoors, especially when it’s time to turn in for the night or enjoy a long well-deserved nap during the day.

While age may be catching up with him, Humphrey’s spirit remains undimmed. He loves prancing through his doggy door and gets these adorable bursts of energy. He may be deaf, but hears whistles and will happily trot along when you call, especially if there’s a treat involved. He has arthritis in his legs but it hasn’t slowed him down too much either, thanks to his daily dose of 4Cyte with his meals. However, he only likes short walks and then he wouldn’t mind if someone offered him a pram. He’ll be best suited to a home with a minimal number of steps.

Just be warned: Humphrey has a bit of a green thumb, or rather, a penchant for digging. So, if you’ve got prized garden beds, you might want to keep an eye on this creative excavator.

All in all, Humphrey is a delightful sweet companion who’s ready to fill your home with love and laughter, one leisurely stroll at a time.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
