NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Breed: Male Jack Russell Terrier/cross

Laurie is a lovable soul – his gentle and calm nature and love for his people makes him a wonderful companion. Laurie loves being picked up and to snuggle on your lap. He is new into our care, but it is clear so far that he bonds with his humans and seeks that nurturing and being around you whenever he can. He follows his foster carer around the house like a little shadow. Laurie seems to be person-bonded; he doesn’t really show interest in meeting other people out on walks, nor to meet other dogs.

Laurie has started walking around his new neighborhood now, which he enjoys. He is not experienced on leash walking but is learning quickly and he is loving getting out and about sniffing his new world. Laurie is wary of dogs and cats and if they approach him too eagerly he scuttles away. He does not understand basic commands like sit, stay, and does not have recall as his name is new. Laurie seems to be housetrained and is responding well to consistency and a routine. He is unsettled by loud and unexpected noises.

Laurie is a gentle, loving, sweet little guy who deserves back to him what he has to offer.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
