Missy is an attractive little lady with a gorgeous puppy-like face, who is super snuggly, playful, and intelligent. She would make a wonderful companion for an active person or family.
This breed is part of the working dog family, loves their people and are very loyal.
Miss P loves to curl up next to you, sit on your lap, get tummy rubs and play fetch or tug of war. She has super cute ears, a lovely lean physique and has this adorable way of standing with one paw up, very dainty!
It is a joy to watch her run and jump, as she is very agile and elegant.
She loves the dog park – sniffing at all the smells and interacting confidently and respectfully with the other pups, large and small. She doesn’t get intimidated, despite her size and instead runs around and regularly flops on her back to show her happiness with life. It’s funny and endearing, just like her!
Missy came from a rural pound and was surrendered through no fault of her own. She was very stressed and scared in there and we were told she was timid. However, within a short time she settled and began to play, prance and show off her cute personality. It’s amazing what a safe and loving environment can do. After a few weeks, she has decompressed even more and is becoming a great house-citizen.
She’s good with other dogs, good with people, is house trained, sleeps through the night, has pretty good recall and can do a range of commands like sit, on your bed, shake, stop, where’s your toy and is generally an obedient doggo. That’s a lot of positives! Miss P is very intelligent and eager to learn, so targeted training would see her thrive and become the best dog for your specific environment.
Missy is an active girl, so will need mental stimulation and physical activity but she has also shown she can relax on the couch or by your side (see photos).
She pulls a little on the lead but has improved in foster care. Missy loves to play and can get a bit worked up but can be redirected quickly and within a couple of weeks she has learned boundaries with her three foster siblings and is respectful of their space, which is amazing as we don’t think she has lived with other dogs before!
She can get a bit frightened and worked up if there is a lot of commotion, usually sparked by her hyper foster siblings (who wouldn’t be) but can be redirected quickly and calmed with food scatters and a change of location. She can also be a bit of a guard dog and bark, but again she is very trainable and it’s something she is copying from the other dogs, so should subside. She has displayed a bit of separation anxiety, but she seems to be getting better.
Missy’s ideal home would have a yard to do zoomies and sniff around in and go for walks in the dog park. She could be an only dog (as long as she went to the dog park to socialise) or be with another dog, preferably (but not necessarily) a male would be great to teach her the ropes, play and snuggle up to. An active family with adults only. As long as she has an outlet for her activity with outdoor excursions, and gets to cuddle with you, she will be amazing!
Missy is a happy and friendly girl who is very adaptable and has fit in quickly with her foster family. With a bit of guidance, Missy will be a wonderful addition to your tribe.
