The love is strong in this one
Dear Randall has been a well-loved member of his pack since puppyhood. A change in the household dynamics has sadly been causing him some stress and his loving family have made the hard decision to have VicDog Rescue rehome him so he can regain his trademark spark. When in the right environment, Randall is a loving, funny, and friendly boy. He gets on fine with other dogs when out and about and is not much bothered by the neighbourhood cats (although he is not fully cat-tested). He is quite the zoom-king at the park or in the backyard.
Showing his Staffy colours, Randall loves hard on his people and enjoys company and interaction at home and away. He can get a bit hyped up and silly when meeting new people and pups, but settles pretty easily after he’s done his sniff-reconnaissance. Randall is house-trained, good in the car and has some basic training, although he pulls a bit on the lead. Like us all, Randall has some quirks. He has an occasional distrust of changing light patterns and may chase shadows (and occasionally the golf on tv, as you do). Randall also has an unholy fear of the vets and this has been managed at his current practice by treating him outdoors, where he seems much more relaxed.
While Randall has the Staffy love of people, he is very uncomfortable with babies and young children and has sadly displayed some self-protective behaviours (growling and baring his teeth) with the toddler in his current home. For this reason, Randall will need a small child-free environment in his new home.
Randall will do well with a family with or without children over 10 or a single person committed to companionship and activities with him. A calmer environment with regular routines, including exercise and play, will suit Randall down to the ground. Some loose leash training and activities to help Randall build his confidence would make him a happy boy indeed. While Randall is generally fine with other dogs, he would love a single dog home so he can soak up the household love.
Are you ready to help this lovely boy re-find his joy? If so, Randall would love to hear from you.
