In Loving Memory of Matti

Unfortunately, Matti was diagnosed with an internal growth a few months ago and while surgery was available, it was a low chance of survival and, if it went well,  he would have spent the rest of life in recovery. We felt it best for him to enjoy what time remains, rather than risk death or to suffer recovery.

After living his best life despite his health difficulties (and with modifications to diet and lifestyle), his kidneys had started to shut down. Much to our sadness we had to make the decision that is never easy to do, even for a dog that has reached 16 years of age.

On his final day he enjoyed his last ride in the sun to soak up all the smells of the park, loving the dog pram as mobility was limited, and took peaceful naps by our side. He didn’t have the energy to play but happily licked and cuddled his favourite toy.

The vet came to the house in the evening on Friday 28th November and he said goodbye to this world in our loving arms.

He leaves behind his companion Martha and the many joyous memories created during the two years we were able to love him.
