Sadly our Borzoi, Nadia passed in 2021 and Sasha left us in 2022.

They were gorgeous girls whose past may have affected them as Nadia (whom we loved dearly) was a bit of a bite first and think about it later. But she had an amazing personality apart from this small problem and was my husband’s heart dog.

Although Sasha was bigger than Nadia and our Afghan she was very shy. She had no clue how to play, unlike her sister, but (also unlike her sister) walked like an absolute angel on the lead, checking on me to make sure all was well.

Nadia thought that our second Afghanhound was bought home for her specifically showing him as a 3 month old pup – how to be a good Borzoi.

Nadia did have health problems which did require daily medication but eventually she took a turn for the worse and we let her go at 11 years old.

Sasha (always the quiet one) sunk into herself. She remained a good sweet girl but became less and less inclined to interact unless I initiated it.

Sadly she started having panic attacks over little things then she slipped on the stairs and couldn’t calm herself. The vet came to help us but she was hyperventilating and panicking and after 3 hours and even a little Valium to help her, she just couldn’t pull herself together (without her sister for backup) and the very hard decision was made to give her peace. She was 12 years old. And she is very missed.

Thank you Victorian Dog Rescue for entrusting these two souls to us we had 6 years of love. Nothing beats the love of a hound but Borzois beat them all.
