NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Meet Mocha, a lovable and very friendly dog who enjoys nothing more than cuddling up close to you.

Mocha is new into our care, and we are learning more about him every day. He truly is a really beautiful dog. He seems to go with the flow as he adapts to his changing environment.

Like every personality, Mocha has a few quirks, which will require time and a constant routine.

It would appear that Mocha hasn’t had much training in his three years. Mocha will need someone who can continue to work on his training to help him be the best dog we know he can be. He needs someone to work with him on his house training. He has made progress with going outside for his toileting, although he’s still getting the hang of the doggy door. Mocha isn’t overly motivated by treats and can be a bit fussy with his food, enjoying some variety with his meals.

This sweet pup loves attention and can be a bit vocal, especially when it’s time for bed or when he’s left alone. To help him feel more secure, he sleeps in his dog bed close to his pack, especially if he’s feeling particularly anxious. Showing him patience and how to be comfortable spending time on his own, will ensure that Mocha and his newly adopted family have a harmonised lifestyle.

Mocha gets so attached to his people that he is showing some signs of separation anxiety but his carers are working on this and he is showing improvement every day. We don’t know if living with another dog would make this aspect easier for him or not.

When it comes to other dogs, Mocha is a bit nervous at first but quickly warms up and loves to play. He’s also been good with cats and enjoys the company of other dogs. Mocha is completely fine with being picked up and cuddled, and he’s pretty obedient, knowing how to sit on command. With patience and consistent training, he should settle in just fine.

Mocha has a bit of energy to burn, so he would benefit from two walks a day.

Overall, Mocha is a beautiful dog who would thrive in a loving and understanding home. He’s adaptable and would fit in well in a variety of environments, whether it’s with a family, young or old, or with other dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Mocha might just be the perfect match for you!

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
