NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Let me introduce myself as Maggie or better known as Maggie Firebrace. I am a five year old beautiful Spoodle with maybe a touch of Bischon, approximately 10kgs. I am adorable and will need to be groomed to look my best and please, please brush me as I love spending time with my humans and enjoy a good bath every few weeks.

My person is moving overseas and sadly cannot take me. In my time with them, I have been vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, house trained and I am definitely an inside girl. I do like home cooked meals or single protein diet, if my food is cold that will make me sick. If food doesn’t agree with me, I will start scratching and licking. Food allergies are my only problem, otherwise I am fit and healthy.

Going for walks is a favourite time for me. I am not overly interested in other dogs, except to sniff and say hello, although I have not been socialised with many dogs in my life. Big dogs seem to scare me and I find my person to protect me. I can get nippy with people I do not know and I have been known to resource guard my toys and treats. Please understand I have not had any training and some things can overwhelm me.  Never have I met a cat and that is all I can comment on about that matter, though probably not recommended in my new home.

My new home will need secure fending as I have had a tendency on occasion to want to jump over fences – but I could not manage a fence over 5-6ft.  Car rides are great and I get very excited, although sometimes my tummy does get upset, but that happened only once or twice.  I love looking at what is passing me by on car trips.

Sleeping, well I love my own bed and occasionally I will want a snuggle on your bed. My new person/family will need to be very patient with me at first, I am a quiet shy girl and will need my human to allow me time to let my personality shine. As I lived in a quiet home before with just my human, I have not had much socialisation and I do get anxious around other people and dogs.

To live my best life this would be with adults, with no children and no other pets.  I know you won’t be able to resist my love that I will give to you with time and patience.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
