NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Murphy is definitely a mixed breed. We asked a few vets, and their expert opinion was that he was an Olympic Athlete crossed with a Cuddle Machine. If you are looking for a dog who will exhaust your 4-legged champ by day then spend the evening sitting on the couch with his head on your lap, then Murphy is the dog for you.

Murphy certainly needs more training and confidence building as he is quite a nervy fellow, but the good news is he is a clever boy. He quickly mastered sit and drop, he is toilet-trained and he could teach other dogs a thing or two about playing fetch. Taught your dog to drop the ball at your feet? He can do that, but if you want, he will put the ball in your hand. Think you can throw the ball farther than he can run? It will never happen…

If he has human company, Murphy doesn’t mind being an only dog, but his ideal forever home will be with another dog who loves a game or ten of all-over-red-rover. His doggy sibling will need to be a robust soul who loves a tumble; Murphy is not aggressive ever, but with nearly every dog he meets, it is game-on and some dogs don’t like that.

His forever home should not have cats or young children either as his size and enthusiasm is not for everybody. But in the right environment, this unique and brilliant lad would thrive.

Medical Notes:

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
