NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Breed: Male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Maltese

DOB: 27/03/2018
Weight: 11.5kgs
Location: Elwood

Please note: Oscar will be rehomed with another dog as he loves their company.

Have you ever had a dog just flop into your arms for a snuggle? No? You need to meet Oscar. When he’s not just lazing around and napping, which he likes to do most of the day, he’ll be shaking his teddy bear at you for a play. He loves that teddy.

Oscar has a fun personality and loves people. He needs a human who is around most of the time and will take him with them when they go out on errands and in the car. He loves to tag along. He does have some separation anxiety so he is not the kind of dog to be left home alone all day.

Oscar loves other dogs and would love to live with another dog of similar size. The only problem with Oscar’s outgoing personality is that he can be a bit too full on with big dogs who may not be as keen as him to be friends. We all know that feeling. He is a very gentle boy and seems good with children too.

He is fine with cats and is currently living with two.  Now they have accepted each other Oscar has accepted his place at the bottom of the pecking order as he is basically a submissive friendly boy.

He does love to sleep in the bedroom with you but he snores – loudly! It may seem cute and funny but it is something to seriously consider before applying. His current foster carer wears earplugs due to Oscar’s snoring so light sleepers best not apply.

Oscar is toilet trained and would do best in a home with a doggy door so he can go to the toilet as needed. He needs a wee before bed, around 10pm, in order to make it through to the morning.

If you are looking for a best friend that you can commit time to, that you are willing to share your life with, then Oscar may be just the boy for you.

Thank you to Lyndsay of Paw Focus Photography for the fantastic photos of Oscar.

Since joining VicDRG, Oscar has had two operations on his luxating patellas, a throat operation, and a visit to the neurologist. He is now receiving physiotherapy. Having checked comparative adoption fees he will be adopted for $1500. We value all our dogs the same but sometimes we have to also be practical.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
