Here are some Nova fun facts as she is hilarious and a constant source of entertainment.
- Nova will play bow and poke you with her furry paw for attention.
- Sometimes she makes sounds like someone playing a tiny trombone.
- Dinner time, means crazy dance time until that bowl hits the floor.
- Nova will sit and look you in the eye, and then communicate with a long, complex awooo. Usually this means “pay attention to me” or “dinner is late.” Nova has fantastic, rubbery facial expressions when “talking”.
- She is happy to chill on the bed with her foster brother Terry while her carers work. Nova has been known to noisily wrestle with Terry under the chair while a zoom call is in progress.
Nova is a happy dog. If anyone is moving around or doing something, she will stand nearby watching and wagging her tail. She loves to play with her doggy friend Terry(a mastiff boy) a lot through the day, but is also happy to laze around with you when you finish work. She has come to understand when her foster carer is saying good-bye on a zoom call and sees this as a great opportunity to vie for some attention. Nova just wants to be with you whenever she can as her people are her world.
Nova is good in the car so a trip to the park, or even a little adventure will see her happy to travel with you. Nova is house trained and got the hang of using the doggie door very quickly. She is a quick learner and smart and has learnt to sit, touch and stay. Walking on lead is work in progress. She is fine until she is distracted by an upcoming dog and will bark and pull at the lead. This is something Nova’s foster carer is working on, and her new family will need to continue the dedicated training.
However Nova is good overall with other dogs. Initially she can get a little too excited and nervous with new dogs, but in saying this she leans to the more submissive end of the spectrum and other dogs seem comfortable in her presence.
A great home for Nova will be with a couple/family with a yard with room to run and play. She will do best with someone being home as much as possible as being in your company is her happy place.
Nova is a delightful, bubbly dog who loves to lay around and play with humans and dogs. Does this sound like your home? If so, Nova would love to hear from you.
Nova is untested with cats.
