NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Riley is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He wants to be around his people as much as possible and his happy place is snuggling in a fluffy blanket with cuddles on the couch. Riley loves pats and lots of attention. He will follow you from room to room like a little shadow. Riley can often be found snoozing in the sunshine or resting in his bed.

Riley walks well on lead and doesn’t pull. He prefers to have a slow amble and to put his nose to work sniffing everything along the way. Riley likes meeting other dogs on his walks and will happily approach and give them a sniff hello. He will sit on command and is progressing quickly with his house training, using the doggie door to go outside. Riley is okay with other dogs in the house but he is not interested in playing. He does like all of the attention of his people and so another dog in the house will need to be comfortable with that.

Riley looks at you so lovingly. All he wants is a home with people who love him as much as he loves them. It really isn’t much to ask for.

Medical Notes: Riley came to us from a shelter in terrible condition. He has a heart murmur that we are investigating and have put him on meds. We need to wait for them to kick in so that we can do his dental. His mouth is a mess with two at least oral nasal fissures. He has scarring all over his back. We wish he could tell us his story. His health rehabilitation is in progress. Despite this he loves the world.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
