Fountains of Wayne Love
Young Wayne is an enthusiastic and friendly soul, whose changed family circumstances have left him adrift. He is now on the hunt for his forever people, who will love him and help him channel his enthusiasms as he grows into his paws.
Wayne enjoys getting out and about, and also loves to snooze and chill with his people. He is toilet trained, travels well in the car, and enjoys the company of others. He has lived happily with multiple cats and loves other dogs. An enthusiastic chewer, Wayne enjoys his toys and, occasionally, a contraband shoe. Wayne has had some basic obedience training as a puppy and has shown good responsiveness and recall with his people when he is not too distracted by the wonders of the world. While he prefers company, Wayne has experience being left alone while his humans are at work, and copes with this provided he has quality time and access when they are home.
Wayne’s enthusiasm for other dogs leads to some slightly over the top antics as he tries to make contact with every canine he sees. This will settle with maturity and further socialisation with other dogs, combined with training in loose lead walking and games that help him forge connection with his new people while reducing the intensity of his responses to other dogs. Wayne’s love of chewing is also best channelled through access to suitable toys and problem-solving activities such as puzzle feeders that give him a mental work out.
Wayne’s dream home will include adults and possibly older children who want to love him and be loved in return. He would love a medium plus yard in which to stretch his legs and sniff the metaphorical roses, and will benefit from daily exercise to burn his energy and give him exposure to the world. Wayne would be happy to live with dog-savvy cats, with appropriate introductions. Wayne would loooove to live with another dog or dogs, although the strength of his puppy-love will require tolerance on the part of any canine pals, plus human attention to time-outs while he learns to manage his excitement. With secure outdoor access and appropriate shelter, Waynewill be okay if his people are out for work or play at times although, like many of us, he will not be happy left alone for extensive periods. Wayne is a bright penny just waiting for someone to make a wish on him. Are you ready to make his world?
