NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

Meet Zorro, an adorable wee boy who given the right home will reward his human family with all the love and devotion they could ask for. Zorro is unsure and anxious about the world around him and as such needs an experienced dog owner who is willing to continue to assist him with his ongoing training and socialisation.

Zorro is a laid back boy and does not need to expend too much energy. He is happy to lie around and snuggle, rather than run around and play with toys. He prefers shorter walks to long ones.  But mostly he wants to be with you.

Whilst Zorro walks well on the lead, when he sees a strange dog he will react. He has also shown signs of guarding his food and as such requires an adult only home. Zorro has received some behaviour training in the past and showed improvements from this.

Zorro’s family describe him as an extremely loving boy, who loves cuddles and pats from his trusted people. It can take him a while to warm to someone, but once he does he makes a great companion.

Zorro bonds deeply with his primary person and has some lovely habits like patting them with his paw for attention. He really does like to sleep close to you as it makes him feel secure.   However he would be best in a home with more than one person as in this situation he is more likely to feel he has to protect his special person.

When Zorro gives you his love you can do anything with him, but you might initially have to do some work to make sure he accepts the other people that are important to you as well.  Naturally we will assist with this and we know from Zorro’s previous home that this will happen.

Zorro’s ideal home will be one where his people are around more often than not. Adults only and with someone who has experience with anxious dogs and is willing to continue to support him with his training and socialisation. All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
