NB: We do not rehome interstate or to applicants under 25. It is our policy not to rehome dogs in the Sunraysia area. As rescue groups have transported thousands of homeless dogs from Mildura and Sunraysia pounds over the last decade, we do not intend to send any back there.

You wouldn’t think Cookie has lived any life other than luxury. She is an absolute princess. She is polite waiting to be let inside and waiting to be told she can eat her meals. Gets off or down when asked and sits for pats.
Her coat is a beautiful red wheaten colour, it is shiny and healthy and easy to maintain. True to her princess title, she is a clean dog, avoids puddles, doesn’t roll in gross things and cleans herself regularly. She also likes a warm bath!
Although she is medium to large at 20kg she is quite dainty in her movement which makes her seem small, in saying that she has no head awareness and constantly bumps her head! She is both awkward and dainty at the same time which is so cute.
She doesn’t have a bad bone in her body, her personality is both curious and lazy. She has the energy to run and play and she is fast! But if the game plan is to have a chill day inside she will just as gladly sleep all day with you around!
Cookie plays like the puppy she is, she throws her toys up in the air to chase them, has the occasional zoomie, talks to you when she’s happy to see you, chases sticks, goes for swims and wrestles with her foster bro dog.
She eats all food and has a well balanced diet but she totally loves raw kale stalks and will patiently stand at the edge of the kitchen waiting for them. Polite princesses don’t steal food and Cookie is no exception. To date she has not taken food she has not been given.
Cookie gets very stimulated when out and about and desperately wants to find the source of what she smells, so can pull on the lead and struggle with recall sometimes. Some obedience training with her new owner would greatly benefit her. She loves the car so taking her places is not a problem.
Cookie is the perfect house guest and will wait to go outside before toileting, doesn’t jump on furniture unless invited and stays out of the kitchen if you ask. But be careful as she may join you in the shower if you leave the door open!
If you are looking for sweetness in a dog and a companion that will make you laugh, go “awww” and feel constant love, Cookie is your girl.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
