Teddy Belvedere has blossomed into a bright playful dog since coming into care a couple of years ago. In a world full of dogs, Teddy is one of the best. He’s not a barker, not a biter and not a digger! He’s just a very sweet boy. Teddy has a lovely sigh/growl/purr when he’s content, and he does this often. You can give Teddy big hugs when you need to give him one – he’ll always be there for you.
Teddy was a timid when he arrived, and it took a little while for him to gain confidence with us. Now Teddy has come out of his shell, and his anxiety levels are much reduced. He now only barks to say hello if he recognises a visiting car or friend; he now prefers to be in the same room as our visitors – and is very polite about it too. Although Teddy can be reactive when he sees another dog suddenly, he otherwise walks politely on a loose lead, and calmly explores the smells on route.
Teddy is a medium sized dog. He is playful, gentle, well-mannered and is ready to live his best life. Teddy is very active and loves chasing the ball or rope – you would think he was half the age he is. He loves lying on his back in the sun; a cuddle and couch-time, but he’s not a needy dog and is happy in his own company too. Teddy has let us know recently that he would much prefer to be an only dog. He would like you to be around quite a bit but when you are out he is happy just to doze till you come back to him.
He’s looking for an active family that will continue to carry on with his training, take him for his walks and maybe even a jog /run. Although Teddy has met children and can politely interact with them, Teddy would prefer to live in a home where there are no children under 10.
Teddy sleeps through the night, is toilet trained, great in the car, and isn’t a fussy eater. His favourite part of mealtime is foraging for his food, thrown over a grassed yard. With his nose down and his tail up, Teddy will scour the yard, and check it multiple times once finished just to be sure he hasn’t missed a bit.
Always happy to see you, Teddy is a great companion waiting for the right person or family to give him a second chance.
Thank you to Liv Morison of Liv Morison photography for the fantastic photos of Teddy.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. All necessary vet work such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment is also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
